Here is some wiring found in an attic. This wiring controls ceiling fans in the rooms below. If you look closely at the picture the fan is wired with lamp cord wire. This wiring is undersized and may over heat possibly causing a fire! All electrical connection are required to be in a junction box and covered. I was told that this installation was performed by a licensed electrician???
This is an accident and a fire waiting to happen.
Don't let this happen to you.

HIGH BRIDGE, NJ
Below are pictures of an oil fired furnace return in the basement of a two family home in High Bridge, N.J. This return is pulling air from the basement. It is also pulling by products of combustion from the barometric damper and the chimney. This chimney also serves the unit next door. When both systems are running at the same time most of the combustion by products are distributed through out this side of the house. This condition is so dangerous the system was shut down.
This family could have been seriously sickened or worse.
Have that home inspected and be ABSOLUTE'ly sure.
HADDON TWP.
The pictures below are of the inside of a chimney in a 80 year old house in Haddon Twp. The debris inside the flue were so bad that it blocked the venting system for the furnace.
The picture on the left is looking in from the water heater connection to the chimney. The picture on the right is looking in from an old furnace connection below the new furnace vent connection.
This obstruction is so bad that dangerous gases was back drafting into the basement. This is a very serious health hazard.
Don't be surprised later. Have that home inspected and be
Absolute'ly sure of the house your buying.
Cherry Hill Twp.,
Camden County, N.J.
This is what was found when the vent serving the water heater and hot water boiler was opened.
The clay flue tile is so deteriorated that it collapsed, blocking the chimney. ALL the combustion products from the gas fired water heater and boiler (i.e. carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, etc) was backing up into the basement. This house is 40 years old. The boiler was installed 10 years ago. Was this chimney inspected before the new heating system was installed? I doubt it!
If not found, carbon monoxide could have made everyone in the house sick or worse this winter.
Don't let this happen to you. Have that new home inspected and be
ABSOLUTE'ly sure its the home you want
HAMILTON TWP., N.J.
MERCER COUNTY
The picture below on the left is the gas water heater vent connection to the chimney? The picture on the right is what was found when the vent was pulled out.
This water heater was never connected to the chimney but was venting directly into the outside wall of the home. Dangerous gases and moisture was traveling up inside the wall to the second floor where the moisture was condensing. Carbon monoxide was also entering into the hall just outside the bedrooms. The chimney that this water heater was to be connected to was just built. If there was a permit for the construction of this chimney was there a finial inspection by the municipal inspector? This installation is criminal and over time could have been deadly.
Don't just be sure of the house you are buying be
ABSOLUTE'ly sure
WOODBURY, N.J.
The above picture is the side of an older home in Woodbury. Doesn't look to bad does it? Now look at the screwdriver. Went right through the wood siding. This area was
completely rotted due to poor roof drainage.
This is the inside of the same house on the same wall. The damage was extensive. This wall must be opened, all the rotted wood framing removed. Repairs to this section of wall will be extensive and expensive. There is most likely mold in these walls that will create an unhealthy environment if not cleaned.
Don't let this happen to you. Have that home inspected and be ABSOLUTE'ly sure it's the home you want.
